Café Milano is the source of many legends. Whether it is a chance encounter with a celebrity (Heellllooo Bo Derek!) or a sneaky encounter with a mature woman or gentleman, elected or not, this place delivers on scene. But guess what? They deliver on food too. Recently, the Pope visited DC and he had one dinner catered for his special friends, and guess who catered it? Yup, Café Milano. The choice of Popes! So, if everyone who is anyone loves it, and the staff treat you like a rock star, even if you are not, and if you get to hang out with rock stars, doesn’t that mean this place is the best? One food tip, if ordering a pizza, get the one with the truffles. We would not steer you wrong. We love Café Milano and we’re not afraid to tell everyone. Open Mon-Tue 11:30am-1am; Wed-Sat 11:30am-2am; Sun 11:30am-11pm

Located in Old Town Alexandria, close to the flagship Restaurant Eve, this creation of Cathal and Meshelle Armstrong delivers the same quality and love you get from their other, more famous sibling restaurants. We love the family dinners served on Sundays and love that they consider their pure and simple American style restaurant to be “casually swank”. While certain traditions are carried over from earlier incarnations of the Majestic, the chef, Shannon Overmiller, uses her training at some of the finest DC restaurants to create extraordinary meals here. We say meals because that is what you get whether you like it or not.

Liberty Tavern passes for your neighborhood bar downstairs, but upstairs, it is a suburban mecca of upscale downtown food. It’s menu is appealing on many levels, including portions and even how the food is served. The waiters are knowledgeable and the service friendly. It’s hard to go big time when you are across the river, but Liberty Tavern delivers for the Arlington residents that are too tired to trek back into the city (even though it is only Liberty is only 10 minutes from downtown DC).
