If you need a mall that has a little of everything, this is the place. It's about 20 minutes outside the city but has all the department and specialty stores you need in an upscale environment. Think Lenox Atlanta or Houston Galleria. Tiffany and Cartier are across the street for those higher end purchases.

If your motto in high school was 'higher the hair, closer to God' than here's your mall. Straddled by Macy's and Nordstroms, it has everything from Banana Republic to Williams Sonoma to that place with the little bourbon chickens on toothpicks that the nice woman lets you try.

Trains, movie theater, food courts and shopping. Well that just about covers it. Union Station complete with decent restaurants and decent shopping is an architectural marvel that happens to include convenient shopping. Don't expect to find everything you need but the last minute items are there. Look at that Jos A Bank salesman, he looks so lonely.

Every city has a mall that used to be superior but now houses dollar stores and hair cutterys. Welcome to Ballston Mall. Aside from the nasty shopping experience, they do have a Chic-Fil-A, a Chicken Out, a great sports bar and a few ice rinks on the roof where the Washington Capitals practice. But other than those four things, you'll have better luck anywhere else.
