Let's face it, DC doesn't have as many options for outdoor drinking as they should. But one glimmer of hope is Cantina Marina, where the afterwork crowd grooves to Marley and drinks at a bar better suited for a vacation island. If you want to order a Corona in the sun, do it here. Located next to the old Presidential yacht, the Sequoia. Another incredible symbol of American spirit that Jimmy Carter sold off. Thanks Jimmy! Open Mon-Thu 11:30am-2:30pm, 5pm-10pm; Fri-Sat 11:30am-11pm; Sun 11:30am-9pm

FYI...the Sneaky Sunday Street Team has seen not one, but TWO cougars let their, um, ladies fall out of their tops on a warm summer night at the Poste bar. whoops. Happy hunting fellas...

Local 16 was one of the first bars on U Street that attracted the young professional element to that neighborhood. So locals obviously hate it. And frankly, we don’t much care for the U Street attitude so we could do without it as well. But it is a good bar with a good outdoor area and a good place to meet a group of friends for some food and upscale drinks. Since we have nothing else to mention, we’ll compare it to its neighbor Marvin on 14th street. Never go to Marvin. Their staff members are the worst in the city, and the patio isn’t worth it. See the line out front? There is no use for standing in it on multiple levels. Did we mention their awful staff? So, Local 16 - yes,

Plenty of table space outside with heaters for the cold months make this a good place for mexican and margaritas with the gang. The food is average, especially if you're from Texas, so drink up. We recommend the swirl because we're fun that way. Open Mon-Thu,Sun 11:30am-11pm; Fri-Sat 11:30am-12am

Ahh, overpriced drinks at one of the only bars on the river in a town entirely built on a river. I know it's frustrating but this bar is usually packed with people (especially on nice weather Sundays) and the $8 coronas will keep you buzzed enough to fall in the Potomac. Don't worry, it's clean....ahem. (Also see Sequoia) Open Mon 12am-1:30am, 11am-1:30am; Tue-Sat 11am-1:30am; Sun 11am-12am

Mexican and margaritas again. We think you have to serve mexican and margaritas to get an outdoor table permit in this bureaucratic city. Open Mon-Thu 11:30am-11pm; Fri-Sat 11:30am-12am; Sun 11am-11pm
