The food is amazing at prices that would make Denny's ashamed of themselves. Why you ask? Because for basically the same price you get an outright gourmet experience and the wait...what wait? You're served within 10 minutes after placing your order. No one in town can compete with this gem.

Meals at Ceviche are consistently a favorite, all year long. The redesign of the old Ponce Hotel space is exceptional and suits the style of the restaurant perfectly. In an era of ubiquitous "small plates" menus and American "tapas", this food is the real deal, with the rest of the restaurant package to match.

The big dogs know this is where to close the deal or celebrate a grand occasion. It doesn't take much of a nose to find the luxuries here, starting with truffled cream soup or curried soup of pumpkin and crab and going on to foie gras burgers and masterpieces of quail and lamb. In the European-trained hands of Chris Ponte and his polished crew, demanding diners are at ease.

Estela's is the perfect place for nachos, burritos and many other Mexican favorites. Estela's is owned and operated by a family that takes great pride in the freshness of the food. In fact, your 100 percent satisfaction with food and service is guaranteed with every order.

Just through the back door of a bistro fit for a big city lurks an attached brick and wood bar with a bay view patio of its own. At lunchtime, the office army yuppies pack in and fill up on appetizers, only to return at night to get blitzed and blow on cigars from the bar's special menu. As the major place of dining and drinking on an island known for its high-priced crowd, Back Jack's and Jackson's combine for one of the most swanky nights out in the Bay.

Maybe it is a limited category, and seafood that's both fresh and creative is always rare on our beaches. Yet Cesar Labrador always adds smart sauces and sides to the best he can get from local boats. Plus you get picnic table seating, beer, paper napkin hospitality and down-to-earth prices.

Day workers frequent this sports bar at lunchtime, and an overload of Bucs fans jam in during football season. The adjacent game room is spacious enough to play darts, pool or video games. It's a great place for the gang to hang.

Dine on the freshest seafood the area has to offer from lobster, Alaskan crab, oysters and shrimp, to a "taste of the sea" dish with fresh fish caught daily. Enjoy one of the best wine cellars on the beach.

Real steaks served in a real steakhouse environment - i.e., gaudy, extravagant, and red.

Don't hate MacDinton's because of its beautiful people. MacDinton's lives up to the hype with impressive quality and authenticity. An Irish craftsman designed the establishment to look like an old Dublin bar (even used bricks and wood imported from Ireland).
