You’ll find this spot easily as it will be the place with lines out the door, but don’t let that deter you, the crowds just mean this is one of the best lunches in Santa Fe’s downtown. Known for their comfort food, you could have a meatloaf sandwich or you could dine on upscale ahi tuna on a ciabatta, or a classic BLT, a turkey melt or several other traditional and not so traditional burgers and sandwiches! This is a comfy, casual old school diner type of place that is typical Santa Fe, very popular with locals and tourists as well. Hours – Daily 7am-10pm

An institution around town with the locals and suits for lunch, the place attracts crowds and is hard to top as far as sandwiches go – they’ve got a blackened Prime Rib sandwich that is only equaled by their broiled New York Strip sandwich. Check out the Cajun grilled tuna sandwich or their Bull Burger, cheese-steak, Buffalo Burger or French Dip. The sandwiches are great at the Bull Ring and so is Santa Fe’s “insider” attitude that you’ll find here also! Hours – Mon-Fri, 11:30-10pm Sat-Sun, 4-10pm

One block off of Santa Fe’s historic place-to-be plaza is where you’ll find this great spot for lunch. Pick from sandwiches like their pulled pork, roast beef po’boy, smoked turkey, apple wood BLT or Kobe Burger. The sneaky thing here is that since they’re affiliated with Chama River Brewery, you can wash your meal down with their Sleeping Dog Stout, Rio Chama Amber Ale, an IPA or their Pilsner. Beer and a decent sandwich too! Hours – Daily, 11-10pm Fri-Sat until 11pm

If you believe that the quality of a sandwich is measured by its bread, then you may want to check out this spot! The aroma of things fresh baked will help you find this tiny place, just a few blocks away from Santa Fe’s plaza. Since opening, Clafoutis has been drawing hungry crowds searching for the authentic French breakfast and lunch, tricky in the desert southwest! The owners are natives of France so they know what they are doing as far as baguettes go, and they know how to create a sandwich with savory meats and cheeses too. Still warm, soft in the middle, a beautiful crunchy crust – you could stuff their baguette with anything and it would be incredible! Hours – Mon-Sat, 7-4pm

Deli style or grilled, this place has a huge variety of fillings with several vegetarian options as well to satisfy your growling stomach at lunchtime. All the breads, from baguette to croissant, focaccia, whole wheat or sourdough are irresistible on their own – paired with any of their scrumptious cheeses, seasoned meats or fish and condiments, the Maven will silence that growl! Hours – Lunch, Mon-Fri 10:30-3pm
