Stepping into this deli gives you the feel of being back in the old country. Grab a number, and listen to the thick Italian accents of the guys behind the counter. If you think that big bin of bread behind you is a little odd, that's because you get to hand pick the roll you want. Make sure you have one picked out when they call your name otherwise you might get the business end of some Sicilian attitude. You would gladly give up your right leg for a taste of their prosciutto, or fresh mozzarella. In the heart of downtown and right by the water this is a "go-to" if you have been working up an appetite shopping all day in union square. The usual complaint is that it’s a little pricey, but relax it’s definitely worth the extra $ for this high quality grub. Try the parfait. They also have great organic salads, pizzas, and sandwiches. Everything here is pretty big so you will be plenty full upon leaving. Open Mon-Thu 7:30am-7:30pm; Fri 7:30am-3pm
