If Tony Soprano ever came to San Fran this would be the place where they'd film it. Everything in this place screams Italian. Be it the Rat Pack memorabilia or the tribute that mimics Frank, Dean, and Sammy up on stage. This place is busting at the seams with character. With a small dining area, and bar they know how to treat their guests right. The portions are huge and delicious. Just don’t piss off the bartender; he looks like he knows how to hurt people.

Again get away from Columbus if you want to enjoy real SF Italian food. No one will argue that Tratoria Contadina deserved a top spot on this list. It keeps itself to a small dining room and an even smaller bar. The décor is outdated and the celebrity and sports stars pictures are a little odd, but they more than make up for this with their food. Upon first taste you know you chose the right place. Make sure you get a spot ahead of time. It’s been known to have 2+ hr waits.

Even though it's hard to go wrong for Italian in North Beach it is worth venturing over to Marina for this spot. Grabbing the attention of most SF clicks as being on the up and up for best Italian this smaller venue gives a perfect audience for the perfect cuisine. If you’re just getting back from a Napa day trip, this would be the perfect spot to put your new found knowledge to the test. With a full wine bar ask for some recommendations from the sommelier to pick out the perfect Vino to pair with your meal from their massive wine list.
