For better or worse, the post-Bonds era has begun and patience may be required with this team. However, on a sunny day, AT&T Park is still one of the best places in the country to watch a major league game. The views of the bay are worth the price of admission alone and the food inside the park won’t disappoint. Be sure to take a stroll around the ballpark’s veranda to check out the paddlers and kayakers waiting for home runs in McCovey Cove. Sneaky tip- the garlic fries are tasty but beware, if you’re on a date, avoid them.

The Warriors are a young team on the rise and the Oracle Arena in Oak-town packs the house with a diverse crowd of fans from the entire East bay and beyond. B Davis and Monta Ellis are two of the most exciting players in the league and the atmosphere inside the Arena is high energy even in the regular season, which is very refreshing for professional basketball. Sneaky tip - take the Bart from downtown SF and you’ll be at the game in about 20-30 minutes.

For hockey fans, the San Jose Sharks are the only option in the Bay area and it’s obvious the San Jose community takes immense pride in their team. A night at the Shark Tank is well worth the hour drive from SF - the fans are diehard and the atmosphere electric. The generous amount of teal apparel in the crowd may not be easy on the eyes, but the action on the ice is always hot.

For one of the most authentic tail-gaiting scenes in the country, get to the Coliseum early on game days. Raider Nation is always in full effect prior to kick off and the enthusiasm in the parking lot carries over inside the stadium. Unless you like being heckled, be sure to wear black and definitely leave the Elway throwback jerseys at home.
