The name pretty much sums it up. A favorite spot for locals, with their flagship shop in the dead center of the Marina bar scene. Guaranteed everyone in line will have hit a couple bars before snagging up a couple slices. If you find yourself in the triangle bars (Fillmore and Greenwich) of Marina hit up Mona Loa and City Tavern before getting in line. Maybe even meet that late night friend you were in search of earlier. You won't be disappointed by their slices, and the perfect location. Open Mon-Wed,Sun 11am-12am; Thu 11am-2am; Fri-Sat 11am-2:30am

This is one of the best secrets in San Fran. Fairly hidden in the famous hills of San Francisco, this very small sushi house puts all other to shame. I know your buddy told you to go somewhere else, or you read about a great review for some other joint. Forget about it because they don’t compare. Where else can you catch noticeable politicians taking down sake bombs with their 20 something year old love interests? If you’re a die hard sushi fan go for the live Uni. Watch as they grab it out of tank, and serve the meat on top of its body still moving. The bill will be a little heavier than normal, but for sushi and atmosphere of this caliber it's expected.

You cannot pass up 50 cent margaritas and a refuel with some nachos. This Pacific Heights restaurant gets hella crowded and the margaritas might not be strong but did I mention they’re 50 cents. The margaritas are 50 cents, get over there. Open Tue-Sat 11am-2am; Sun 11am-12am

Either wait in line or pretend you're on the list; your group better have more girls than guys or you're not getting in. Call ahead or roll up to the bouncer with some arm candy and take the slide down to the club. No really there is a slide down to the club. A smaller club that packs it in with some of the hottest DJ’s in the world but good luck getting a drink if you don’t have bottle service. Wed-Sat 5pm-3am

Call for a reservation because they will not let you in without the password. The place is equipped with secret doors and the largest bourbon selection in the city. In the true style of a speakeasy this place does it right from the second you walk in the door. If bourbon doesn’t float your boat try the cucumber cocktails, yeah guys can drink them too (they’re that good). The unmarked door can be hard to find in the sketchy neighborhood but that adds to the character. Check the house rules before you go because you don’t want to get kicked out, they smuggle booze.

This brasserie on the embarcadero earns a five star rating as one of San Francisco’s premier restaurants. This French American place really packs it in with tables very close to each other. It will leave a very good impression as you leave and your wallet will definitely the last to forget.

This lavish romantic restaurant on Nob Hill gives you the impression you got on a private jet and went to Paris. A very pretty environment with an exquisite fixed menu that caters to all pallets. The vegetarian option is particularly impressive and always has the ladies wanting more as long as their man’s wallet hasn’t dried up.

Just as rough as the area it resides, this bar is deep in the mission district. If you don’t have full tattoo sleeves don’t be surprised when the guy at the door gives you a funny look. This bar attracts nothing but the best of SF in-crowd motorcyclists, street bikers, punks, junkies, and everyone else that your mom told you not to hang out with. But if you can brave the environment there is no other place you would rather be on a sunny Saturday or Sunday. With almost no seating inside, grab a spot on the outdoor benches, order the best bloody mary in the city, and some BBQ. This place is so popular its almost tough labeling it a dive bar. Daily 9am-2am

This is how the Marina does Mexican food, stylish with a very exciting atmosphere. A great singles restaurant with hit or miss service due to how packed it gets. Grab a margarita and some tacos and start contributing to this noisy hot spot.

In the heart of downtown and right by the water this is a goto if you have been working up an appetite shopping all day in union square. The usual complaint is that it’s a little pricey, but relax it’s definitely worth the extra $ for this high quality grub. Try the parfait, I mean who doesn’t like parfait. They also have great organic salads and pizzas. Everything here is pretty big so you will be plenty full leaving this place. Open Mon-Thu 7:30am-7:30pm; Fri 7:30am-3pm

San Francisco has some great boutique hotels and this is certainly one of the headliners. The Clift is a full-service luxury boutique that truly takes modern and contemporary design to another level. The bar scene in the Redwood Room has to be the best in the city among hotels. Morgans Hotels are famous for their sheek style and design and this place is no different. You may be familiar with the Mondrian, Shore Club, or the Delano from traveling to L.A. or Miami and if you are a fan of any of those you will feel right at home at The Clift. Low to mid $200 range is a good starting point for a nightly room rate.

A third-grader could associate San Franciso with The Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, and Alcatraz which should make their parents proud. If you want to be an educated tourist with grown-up standards you must hit up The Buena Vista. As soon as you end up at Fisherman's Wharf, which will inevitably happen, come pay hommage to one of San Francisco's truly unique bars. The Irish Coffee is the famous signature drink which will be incredibly apparent the moment you walk in the door. Follow it up with a great Bloody Mary and soak in your surroundings.
