This zoo houses some of the most exotic animals in the United States. Walk round on foot (though you may get tired and hot, it's a BIG place) or take the tour bus which will drive you by each enclosure and teach you about the animals inside. Try and pick a cool day to go, or bring sunscreen, because you'll be constantly exposed to the sun.
Balboa Park

Though it does have beautiful stretches of green grass and beautiful balboa trees, this Park is more of an urban-cultural one. Within the vicinity you'll find museums, restaurants, galleries, theatres, the San Diego Zoo and more.

La Jolla Cove is pure amusement. A cove, tucked into bustling La Jolla, which is constantly packed with people. However, it's not so busy that everyone can't spread out and enjoy themselves. Right above the beach is Scripps Park, with California green grass and Balboa trees that date back to the 18th Century. There's also scuba diving or kayaking available just outside the cove. After all the excitement, hunger is bound to strike. Try the Brockton Villa, but be sure to make reservations, this place books up fast!
Torrey Pines State Reserve

Torrey Pines State Reserve is probably the most beautiful place in San Diego. Go just before dusk and walk the trail while the sun is low in the sky, you'll catch the sunset over the ocean, but don't dawdle, you don't want to be stuck up there at night. It's a great place for exercise, photography, long walks with a new love interest, or just self-reflection time.
