Summer is short in Minnesota, so it's best spent on the patios at one of Rochester's few truly great restaurants. Tucked between two old downtown buildings, this brick lined, umbrella-covered spot is a great place for a glass of wine, a savory piece of fish, and some leisurely summer dining.

This place is located in kind of a strange strip-mall spot, but don't count out the Fiesta patio for some great outdoor Mexican eats. My favorite was heading there with tennis team-mates for after match celebration.

Far superior to Dos Amigos uno, this low-key Mexican place is a great spot for some food and an even better spot for a frozen beverage with those can't-eat-just-twenty tortilla chips with scrumptious salsa. It's right on the water, right in the middle of town. Perfect.
