Alpaca is a dance-fusion project based in Portland, Oregon. In just two years the band has risen to popularity in the Pacific Northwest and has contributed greatly to the live music scene here. When one experiences Alpaca live, they walk away with a fresh perspective on the hybridization of popular dance music genres such as funk, electronica, disco, and trance, all tied together through an elegant weave of meticulous composition and energetic improvisation. Alpaca has shared the stage with Flying Lotus, Daedalus, Big Gigantic, BLVD, Juno What, The Everyone Orchestra, Fareed Haque, KJ Sawka, Lazer Sword, Savoy, Lynx and Jamie Janover, and many others... not to mention playing afterparties for the likes of Sound Tribe Sector 9 and Moe. Originally from Los Angeles, BB of Salsa Reno has been dancing Salsa for over 15 years and teaching since 2002. He regularly studies salsa with top salsa dance instructors from around the world. His current salsa teachers are John and Liz of Salsamania in Oakland, CA, ranked sixth in the world and he is endorsed to teach Bachata by Rodney "Rodchata" Aquino, a World renown Bachata instructor from the SF Bay area. Recently BB of Salsa Reno was voted "Best Dance Instructor in Northern Nevada 2009" in the Reno News and Review Reader's poll. BB of Salsa Reno has also been honored by Salsagang.com for his outstanding contributions to the salsa industry in the Reno/Truckee area and he was named "best salsa instructor in town" by Reno Magazine in January 2009. He teaches a comprehensive salsa dance program at the Gemini Ballroom in Reno where the beginning lesson on Mondays from 6 to 7 PM is always FREE.

Currently BB's studio classes have almost 200 students and his parties usually have anywhere from 100-700 people. Can I sit at a table when it's empty?
During the Mesa Luna Social your welcome to sit at a table, however if the table is already reserved please know that someone has already paid for their reservation. A VIP host or cocktail server will come around to clear the table before the party with the reservation arrives.

Generally how long can I use a table for free?
The EDGE Employees will start clearing reserved tables around 10 PM. This is when EDGE opens for their regular clubs hours.

How do I find out if tables are available?
Call Megan McCleod the VIP Manager or tell one of the EDGE Employees that you're interested in a table the night of and they will find her for you.

100.1 The X presents "Stones For Bones", 19 of our favorite local bands performing one of their favorite Rolling Stones tunes on Saturday, November 21st at The Celebrity Showroom inside John Ascuaga's Nugget from 7:00-10:30pm (doors at 6:00). This is a 19th birthday party for KTHX and all proceeds from the show will go to several charities/non-profits - The Nevada Opera, The Reno Chamber Orchestra, and The Washoe County School District's "Music In Schools" program. Additionally, Whole Foods will be making a food donation to St. Vincent's Pantry in exchange for promotion as the title sponsor. Tickets are $19. This clinic is designed for players aged 8-13.
