Resting on the banks of the Columbia River, Salty's is the best seafood restaurant in Portland. It's the real deal featuring live Dungeness crab, live Maine lobster, wild Alaskan salmon, and prime USDA steaks. They are open daily for lunch and dinner and also serve a great Sunday brunch.

Reknown for the seafood and sushi, Bay 13's interior is made of wood paneling and other modern design astectics is what I call neo-Portland. Although they try, unsuccessfully, to be a California type place, the food and drink is pretty good. Although on the expensive side. The outdoor patio is nice and comfortable with outdoor heaters and plenty of tables. Bar Menu Daily from 4pm Dinner Daily from 5pm

Jake's has been doing seafood in Portland since 1892 and is probably the most famous restaurant in the entire city. If you are a history or trivia buff or you just have your brain filled with worthless information like us, you will be interested to know that this very place spawned the McCormick and Schmick's seafood restaurant chain. Bill McCormick purchased Jake's in the 70's which at the time was run-down and not too far from shutting the doors. He revitalized the restaurant and became partners with Doug Schmick and you can see where this is going. Now there are over 50 M&S restaurants throughout the country and you can thank Jake's for getting the ball rolling.

It seems that seafood restaurants in Portland have been around a very long time. The restaurant is decked out in a seafaring motif. Everyone comes here for the oysters which are fresh. The Shrimp Louie is a standard. One suggestion is don't go too wild with the appetizers as the entrees come with a large salad. The crab cakes are really good. Get your parking stub partially refund if you bring your ticket with you. Hours: Sun - Thurs 11am - 9pm Fri - Sat 11am - 10pm

Southpark is the go-to for business people on their lunch hour and their seafood entrees are great. Good wine selection and a cool open kitchen allows you to see everything going on back there. Don't faint by the plethora of fresh oysters on ice in direct view when you walk in.

The Charthouse is built into the side of "pill hill" (OHSU Campus) and overlooks Portland. This very romantic restaurant will deliver the goods. The bottom floor is a great place to enjoy a cocktail in front of the fireplace in the large plush leather furniture. The special here is the steak and it comes a la carte but it's very good. Lunch Monday - Friday 11:30am - 2:00pm (light fare 2:00pm - 5:00pm in lounge) Dinner Monday - Thursday 5:00pm - 9:30pm Friday - Saturday 5:00pm - 10:00pm Sunday 5:00pm - 9:00pm

Portland has some great seafood places and this is certainly one of them. USDA Prime steaks, fresh Hawaiian Pacific Coast and Alaskan seafood, a full sushi menu, and some of the best views of any restaurant in Portland are all part of the fare here. Traditional sushi, sashimi, classic and contemporary rolls round out the sushi menu. They are open Monday through Friday for lunch and dinner and open on Saturday and Sunday for dinner only.
