Even though it's right next to a prison it's safe! Edgefield has 9 different bars on 38 acres including a hotel and spa. The place has an 18 hole par 3 golf course, an amphitheater and a hobbit bar. Yes. A hobbit bar.

The author found this place haphazardly one night out in NW looking for a new place to pound and I was lucky I found it. Dark ambiance inside with a single flatscreen playing whatever is on Fox Sports World…rugby, soccer, or AFL. This is a true Euro pub...if you don't care for any of the 3 previous sports, don't come here, but if you're slightly interested in trying something new, come on. Good food and good drink. Prepare to go euro tonight...next thing you know you'll start wearing tight pants and starting each sentence with "oy!" Hours : 4PM - Late, 7 days a week. Happy hour 4-6pm daily.

If the hustle and bustle of downtown PDX isn't your cup of joe tonight, maybe it's a good idea to track out the 'burbs. The Dublin is deep in Portland residential area but on any given night, this place is packed. If a band is playing, which is usually every night, plan on paying a cover though. An abundant selection of drafts here, so if you're hesitant about making finite decisions, you will have a tough one. But when it's time to make a toast and cat's got your tongue, it's ok...look up around the ceiling and you will find about 20 different irish folk sayings that will cover your bases. Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-1:00pm Friday and Saturday 3:00pm-2:30pm

Nestled sweetly in Old Town you wouldn't know it was there unless someone told you where it was. Music abounds here with a great open mic night featuring the best of local Portland musicians. The author actually rocked this place once with a cover of the Top Gun Anthem...story for another time. Anyway, you won't find the pretty people of Portland here, it's a great spot to escape into the crowd and not be bothered and left to your cocktail. Open Daily 11am to 2:30am

The best Irish Pub in Portland. Any given night will yield a great band playing irish folk songs good enough to get drunk to. There's no shortage of great beers to choose from here. When there is a big soccer match going on around the world, they're playing it so many patrons to Kell's are soccer fans. If you don't think soccer is a valued global sport, maybe this isn't your pub. Also, in the basement is a cigar room for all those who enjoy a good cigar.
