Zen 32 is a popular and stylish spot near the Biltmore in Phoenix. They have good sushi, a great patio, and a very popular happy hour. One of the neat things about this place is the sushi bar is always open until midnight each day of the week. Kyoto is a great spot to go for a group dinner before heading out and is also a great place to go for a large business dinner. There are eight teppanyaki tables and you can choose between shrimp, lobster, scallops, chicken, or beef. They also have very good sushi and a wide selection of beer and sake. This is from the same folks that brought you P.F. Chang's but this is a more upscale and way more authentic concept. They use premium and organic ingredients and the food is prepared in a wood fired oven and grill. We do not like recommending chains but since P.F. Chang's started in Scottsdale in 1993 we decided to make an exception. Consider this as much of a history lesson as it is a suggestion. The original location closed and they expanded into this location (maplink below). History lesson over. The food is consistently good and very americanized.
