Phoenix is definitely a basketball town and the Suns are the number one team in town. Tickets are difficult but not impossible. Remember that Phoenix residents love their Suns, so cheering for any other team, especially the Lakers can be an interesting experience.

Randy Johnson and Co. have not quite lived up to their World Series winning season of a few years back but the games are lively and the stadium is centrally located so if you get bored at the game, it's easy to find an alternative.
A national event in Phoenix with people coming from all over the country to see their favorite teams. Depending on the team, seats can be difficult. The Cubs are an especially tough ticket.

Sun Devil Stadium is a bit dated, but centrally located within walking distance to downtown Tempe and only a short ride to Old Town Scottsdale. Tickets are normally easy to come by on game day but be sure to drink plenty of liquids and if it's a day game in September, some of that liquid should probably be water.

America's Bad News Bears have a new football stadium which is worth the look, even if you could care less about the outcome. The generally isolated nature of the area can be a bit frustrating especially if the game goes south quickly.
