Snockey’s has been around for nearly a century – no joke. The fact that they are celebrating their 96th anniversary should be proof enough that the oysters are nothing shy of the absolute best. How many restaurants develop enough of a following to stay in business for that long? The menu is long, prices are cheap and on top of the oysters they have All You Can Eat Crabs – we have officially died and gone to heaven.

Bookbinders is a long-standing part of Philadelphia history dating back to the days of Ben Franklin – well not quite as long, but you get the point. It is undoubtedly a favorite among locals and offers a range of seafood dishes, one of the constant favorites being the Oysters Rockefeller. This dish is so good that even if you are not an Oyster-lover Bookbinders’ spin on the dish is sure to win your heart.

This restaurant is in the heart of the Italian Market. The décor is understated but the food is great, and the fried oysters are the best.
