Why the Standard Tap hasn’t gotten more attention for its kick-ass burgers, we don’t know. Because it’s “all the way out in Northern Liberties”? Quit your complaining and take a cab. Seriously, you’ll thank us. The Tap’s style is “old school pub meets non-pretentious hipster hangout.” And you can’t help but love it. The beers on tap are mostly local brews and the staffers hand-write the rotating menu on a chalk board above both the bars. If you’re not in the mood for a burger and the chicken pot pie is on the menu? Order that. You won’t be disappointed. A few other things that won’t disappoint: the outdoor rooftop deck, the jukebox packed with the best bands you’ve never heard of, and the prices (dare we say, “cheap”).
