This popular destination is hailed as having one of the best beer selections in the city. Located along the Schuylkill River it overlooks the water, and with three outdoor bars it attracts a huge crowd, particularly when the weather is warm. Manyunk is about 10-15 minutes outside of Center City and tends to attract mostly a post-college, younger 20’s crowd.

They are especially known for their selection of Belgium Beer and even have a “Beer Bible” to help you navigate through all the choices. A “Beer Bible” – what a brilliant idea – that’s exactly what this world needed! Be sure to keep an eye out for events held at Monks too, as they usually have a few a month in which they bring in beer gods from across the world to talk about interesting brews and of course drinks some of their finest as well. Open Monday – Saturday from 11:30am – 2am and Sunday from 11:00am – 1:00am.

Many people call this place “Beer Heaven” with an insane menu offering hundreds of international and domestic craft brewed bottled beers as well as beers on tap. This place looks unassuming from the outside, but once you get in things get crazy with more than 300 international and domestic choices of beer. If in the mood for a cold one and some conversation we recommend going on a weeknight because weekends tend to get a bit insane (for the record we like insane but you may not). Open Monday – Wednesday from 5:00pm – 2:00am and Thursday –Sunday from 11:00am – 2:00am. CHEERS!

This corner bar and restaurant is located in Northern Liberties, a slightly edgier and more laid back neighborhood in the city. N 3rd has a funky vibe with an eclectic setting complimented by an out-of-this world selection of beer (and we should add a pretty sick wine list too). With prices that even people right out of college with no job can afford, we in part love this spot because it doesn’t break the bank. Open daily from 4:00pm – 2:00am.

The food menu is small, but the beer menu is HUGE. Who needs food anyway? The beers on tap are always new…which keeps people coming back for the latest brew… Located in Fairmount, this place is the one that started it all as the first place in Philly to specialize in Belgian beers. For this Bridgid, we thank you! With a great ambiance and fireside dining, this is a great spot for a good meal and a great brew.
