    An exhibit of seven quilts in the History Center's grand staircase honors Florida's fallen heroes in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, as part of the Florida Fallen Heroes Quilt Project. Each square of every quilt bears the name of a deceased soldier and expresses a patriotic design. This project was inspired by a young Florida seaman returning from duty in Iraq who expressed a desire to honor the friends he lost. Included with general admission. The History Center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. General admission is $9*, seniors (60+) are $7, and children ages 5-12 are $6. Historical Society Members, Orange County employees, and children 4 and under are free.

  • Walking Event: Lakes  Orlando Regional Medical Center (Lakes)

    Daily 7-6. This walk is through the older residential areas and lakes and parks east and south of downtown Orlando. It is a shaded walk suitable for walking year round. Walk in the shade around Lakes Cherokee, Davis, and Lancaster. The walk is a shaded and relaxing stroll in the Orlando City neighborhoods. Use Hospital Cafeteria to purchase refreshments. MFM suggests all walkers carry water. Recommend beginning walk not later than 6:00 PM in summer and 4:00 PM in winter.

Water, cokes, pastries, and great coffee are at Starbucks before and after the walk. MFM suggests all walkers carry water.     We are dedicated to the growth of Argentine Tango in the Orlando and surrounding areas. We invite you to explore Argentine Tango with us. We hold our events in our very own Tango patio house, also known as “conventillos.” It is truly a very beautiful patio atmosphere built indoors. If you are new to Tango or a seasoned dancer, you will find a friendly community and a great place to dance at “El Patio de la Morocha” every Saturday from 8:30 pm to 2:00 am. We hold classes on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 pm. to 8:30 pm. and guided practices with an instructor every Friday from 7:30 pm. to 10:00 pm.
