The film series continues with Nikita Mikhalkov s 12." Nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar, acclaimed director Mikhalkov s 2007 film is a dissection of the personal and social quandaries facing modern-day Russia. Inspired by Sidney Lumet's 1957 classic, 12 Angry Men," the film opens with the closing arguments in the trail of a Chechen teenager accused of murdering his adoptive Russian father. Thinking their deliberation will be brief, the jurors instead find themselves embroiled in the complexities of the case and divided by racism and prejudice. As they deliberate, each of the jurors takes center stage to confront, connect and confess.

Brian Collins is planning on having the book discussion Sunday November 8th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Isola Bella Club House/Pavilion. The Pavilion is at 6446 N. Peniel Ave, which turns off of N.W. 63rd st. Our first book is The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. Here are the details of the discussion: For anyone looking for a copy, the Border's Book store on N.W. Expressway had quite a few copies. Instead of discussing the whole book which would be impossible in two hours, we can focus on 2-3 chapters. The first three chapters that would be a good start for us would be chapters 3-"Arguments for God's Existence", 4-"Why there almost certainly is no God", and 6-"The roots of Morality: Why are we good?" I would encourage any one who plans on attending to compose some discussion questions for the meet up. This will help move and initiate discussion overall. We are certainly not limited to these chapters. These seemed to contain the most basic arguments for what we as atheists believe. We are looking to start having a greater variety of meetups to appeal to growing group. I hope you can make it out for this event!
