A good range of beers in bottle and tap. Mainly, it's just an easy-going joint to kick back with some choice beers or creative coctails. They've got a whole slew of old-school board games for your merriment and a few TV's to catch the game. Not a dive in the classic, you're-gonna-lose-your-job sense, but certainly an enjoyable neighborhoodie place to sip a beer or ten. A bunch of bottles and a gaggle of drafts, this raucous good time always delivers. The front room is tailor-made for post-college rowdiness and the back room lends itself more to boozy conversation. A good option if you're looking to shut off the outside world and get loose. They've got a nice, long half-priced happy hour to grease the wheels. You can always tell by the beers on tap if the owners are beer drinkers. That seems to be the case at Keeley's. They update their tap beers on a fairly regular basis and always have a few surprises up their sleeves. Their good line-up of delicious micros goes nicely with a menu made for beer-lovers. Plenty of meat, plenty of grease, which lends itself well to day of and day after drinking these fine ales.

A welcome respite from your typical Upper West tavern. They've got a good selection of unexpected and hard-to-find craft beers. It's more chill environment than many other area establishments. The communal seating is ideal for hanging with friends over beers and, hopefully, meeting new ones. The staff is nice and knowledgeable. They also have tasty burgers to get your tummy ready for some tasty beers. Yeah, we said tummy. Open Mon-Thu,Sun 12pm-12am; Sat 12pm-1am.

Consider it a fantastic place not to finish that novel you've been working on for 10 years. But, you can still feel productive with good, old-fashioned beer-sippin' and spirited conversation. Its look is about what you'd expect from its name - old English, old wood and a few old drunks sprinkled in for good measure. This Morningside Heights comfort zone is an easy place to work your way down an inexpensive brew list and their few choice ciders. The food isn't anything to write a poem about, but the friendly, easy-going vibe just may be.
