The eclectic cuisine shines all weekend long at this Nolita restaurant, designed to be an overwhelmingly open space like that of a public library. Though some dishes steer towards the classic—like the savory banana stuffed French toast—others are more inventive and provide an adventurous experience for the palate, like the two eggs any style on sourdough toast with slow roasted tomatoes and buttered mushrooms or the grilled venison burger served on a miso bun with tomato chili jam. Try to sit by the open windows in the summer to enjoy the fresh breeze and the beautiful shoppers passing by.

Morandi

The brains behind the celebrated Balthazar-Pastis-Schiller’s circuit have finally opened a fourth Eden, Morandi on beautiful, tree lined Waverly Place in the West Village. Expect their usual nonchalant European service, the kind that swings by occasionally to see how things are going and ventures off at length to places unknown. But isn’t this what we like on a beautiful brunch-filled morning, a delicious meal with few interruptions? Don’t expect to feel too relaxed, as Morandi, like its sisters, is incredibly noisy, even at 11 AM. Though the menu is speckled with a few egg-based options, Morandi focuses on a heavier fare featuring many pastas, fishes, and meats. The sea bass in a lemon vinaigrette and the pesto pasta are only two of the menu’s fantastic and flavorful options.

Friend of a Farmer

After a night of drinking the best way to nurse your naughty hangover is to wolf down some Farmer friendly comfort food. It's soothing, satisfying and sinful. Located on charming Irving Place, the restaurant transports you back to the good ole days of grandma's cooking. The decor is rustic and inviting and seating is cozy. Famous for their hot apple cider and chicken pot pie. YUM! They even have a working fireplace going in the winter! So if you're in the mood for meatloaf and mash to wash down the mimosas, make sure you swing by!

Spotted Pig

This charming neighborhood joint has the delicious food, trendy vibe and great service that made it a cool new West village staple. The English Gastropub cuisine draws hipsters, suits and celebs alike. Smoked Haddock chowder, burger with Roquefort and the flourless cake are must order items. The menu is very interesting but a little limiting. This hotspot has a great bar scene although it gets crowd fast. Make sure you come early, are prepared to wait as this restaurant is cozy and always busy.

The bread basket is sinfully delicious and makes only choosing 3 yummy breads a true challenge. Pecan Pear crumb cake, spicy pumpkin bread or even sour cream donuts...I'm speechless?!? The carrot cake pancakes and chicken sausage is also quite delicious. This restaurant is aptly named and definitely raises the bar (and the table).

Essex is a hopping brunch spot, packed with all the kids who are meeting up again with everyone they met up with last night! Don't bother thinking it through, just order the $15.95 prix fix brunch that includes three drinks of your choice; bloody mary, mimosa or screwdriver. Trust us the servers still pour long after your third. You're going to wait for a table, but what do you expect after what you have just been told. The fare is Jewish- American and the music will have you singing along. Just bring shades, afterall, it is the day after!!

Pastis

This classic French bistro is a scene but it sure fits the bill whether you're healing a hangover or dressing up to meet the parents. Weather permitting, sit out on the sidewalk cafe and enjoy being in the trendy meatpacking district. Afterwards hit the neighborhood boutiques, walk the village or take advantage of the Hudson River Park. The food and people watching are worth the wait (up to 2 hours at times) but you can always make a reservation. Don't act like a fool if you spot a celebrity or two.
