Yes, we mean a 2 hour wait on a good day for the pancakes that melt in your mouth, the eggs that bring jubilation to your mouth, the warm milky biscuits reminiscent of winter mornings. Though the staff sleeps in till 10 AM on weekends, doors open at 8 AM every weekday morning to fill the stomachs of Lower East Siders with their delicious wild mushroom scrambles—mushrooms, goat cheese, and thyme—and Spanish biscuit sandwiches—eggs, jack cheddar, and chorizo, served on their delicious homemade biscuit

Grey Dog's Coffee

Originally located on Carmine Street, a second location opened on University Place, catering to the immense demand for Grey Dog’s fabulous treats. Opening daily at 6:30 AM, the place is quickly filled with all sorts of New Yorkers eager to fork into the fresh challah French toast, the breakfast quesadilla—eggs, cheddar, roasted peppers, onions, and mushrooms—the yummy omelettes, or the homemade muffins. The space has a comfortable homey ambiance, so even though you’ve dragged yourself out of bed at the rooster’s crow, you’ll feel like you’re enjoying some breakfast in your kitchen.

Five Points

Balthazar

The Cheesecake Factory owners liked this place so much; they decided to style their restaurants after it. Baltazar is a Soho staple and serves French bistro cuisine. Love the old school bistro decor and laid back feel. The service was good - definitely try the duck confit pate with crunch cornichons. The food came very fast. I went here expecting it not to be able to live up to its reputation. However, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Simply amazing. Reservations are a must - or wait at the bar while slurping down some east coast oysters.

City Bakery

From Caramilized French toast to pretzel croissants, this bakery satisfies all your breakfast needs! The iced cappuccino-it’s to die for. The owner and servers are extremely friendly, down to earth and very easy on the eyes.
