This bar feels like the apartment you wish you lived in. The comfy couches, decorative fireplaces and funky furnishing of this place make it feel like home. Cheap beer and friendly service make this place a definite neighborhood watering hole for the locals. The bocce court and pull-down full screen allow for plenty of activities to help pass the time, just don't let your drink get warm. Four-legged friends are welcome and if you get hungry, the Atlantic Chip Shop is right next door.

Dark and over-crowded during the weekdays, this bar is full of lawyers freshly released from court house right across the street. Beer is cheap, conversation is loud and energetic and the singles scene is hopping. And considering that the courts let out around 4pm, the Happy Hour scene is a strong one here!

Crowded, noisy and bustling, this is the best Thai food around and worth the visit. The entrees are inexpensive and plentiful and the service is fast and friendly. The bar scene is hopping, with a live DJ on Thursdays- Sunday night. Be sure to check out the Thai Calamari with kick-ass spicy sauce and the old standard of Pad Thai is done right here. Oh- and the curry are nothing to sneeze at either... massaman is a favorite of ours.

Located in the first floor of the brownstone that houses Alma's restaurant upstairs, B61 is the perfect holding pen while you wait for your table at Alma's. This bar hosts a pool table, up to date juke box and long bar with sweeping views of downtown Manhattan. The margaritas are inexpensive, large and pack an extra punch at B61

A few too many NYU freshman (who can't possibly be 21) seem to show up in this neighborhood dive bar. Hosting unusual beers on tap, Henry Street is the perfect watering hole in Brooklyn Heights. It's nicely situated between the 2/3 and A/C and is a nice mix of semi-full at any hour of the evening, but still providing room for you to hunker down at the bar. The bar food is done right, our favorites being the hummus platter up front and the classic greasy burger to follow.

The old tin ceilings and classic wooden bar remind you this place used to be an old-school Italian social club. Friendly yet formal, the bar-tenders will serve you in formal wear with a smile. A great place to take people you'd like to impress, or least convince that Brooklyn is not only made up on low-key dive bars. We recommend their mixed drinks, their original Riposto is a favorite of ours. Open Mon 12am-4am, 5pm-4am; Tue-Sat 5pm-4am; Sun 5pm-12am
