Ever heard of latte art? If you haven't witnessed the aesthetics of a perfect latte, Fido's is a must. The baristas here make flower, leaf, and swirl designs in the cup using the foam and espresso. If this isn't enough, their food is delicious too! Hours Monday - Thursday 7am - 11pm Friday 7am - 12 am Saturday 8am - 12am Sunday 8am - 11pm

Locally owned and naturally funky, “The Monkey” is the epitome of what a neighborhood coffee shop should be. Think “Central Perk” from Friends but without the bad acoustic guitar. Those afraid of dying will be glad to know that everything is natural, organic, hormone-free, dye-free, fat-free, etc. For breakfast with a twist ask for the “Plain Julie” - scrambled eggs flavored with feta and basil. Around lunch-time you can design your own fresh salad or try one of their signature sandwiches. Elvis fans are bound to love the “Nathan”. Patrons take their coffee seriously and it boasts a strong international flavor with brews imported from ten different countries around the globe. Monday thru Friday 7am -3 pm, Sat & Sun 8:30am – 3pm

If you are not scared of being surrounded by graduate students, JJ's is an amazing place to go relax. Cuddle up with a book or do some work while sipping on one of their specialty drinks. Their coffee is good, but their teas are even better! They have a wall full of flavors to chose from and will steep your tea for you. Their drinks are so yummy that they will even start a credit card tab for you. Even more, they have specialty chocolates and snacks in their little market portion of their coffeehouse. Cute, quaint, and comfortable. Hours: Mon-Fri 7:00am-12:00am, Sat 8:00am-12:00am, Sun 9:00am-12:00am

This local chain is now up to three locations drawing in a steady crowd of introverted students and discriminating coffee drinkers. The coffee is grown all around the world, but roasted on-site and the knowledgable staff is happy to point out the virtues of their favorite brew. Overall, a great place to grab the paper and cool your heels for a bit before jumping back into the rat race. Hours: 7am to 12am Daily
