The former home of the Grand Ole Opry and still the reining cathedral of country music, this landmark theatre just off Broadway has been creating converts to country music since 1892. Known for its straight-back pews and world class acoustics, you simply haven’t made it in country music until you have played the Ryman. While the Ryman’s historic credentials are unchallenged, most are surprised to find that modern artists from all genres covet the chance to play on the legendary stage. Regularly hailed as one of the best concert halls in America – a performance at the Ryman is not to be missed. Box Office Hours: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm - 7 days a week

A cozy venue that many locals enjoy. You will be close enough to the stage at any place in the room that you will be able to rock out with the band. Written on the Exit/In wall is a list of names of artists who have played in the club including Jimmy Buffett when he was a recent college grad.

What better way to experience country music at its finest than with line dancing! Open for lunch and dinner, it's a great place to go with families during the day and friends at night. Wildhorse has more than country music though. The best thing to do is look at the website before you go to check out what's on the agenda for the night. Sometimes the venue is closed for private parties. Open Mon 12am-3am, 5pm-3am; Tue-Sat 11am-3am; Sun 11am-12am

Mercy Lounge's biggest selling point isn't the national acts that occasionally perform in the 500-capacity space; it's the chic-but-laid-back atmosphere: pristine hardwood floors, vintage couches and chairs, thoughtful lighting and two long, S-shaped bars in two adjoining rooms. If the main bar is busy, or if the band is too loud, don't forget the smaller bar tucked in the corner of the back room. The bartenders aren't as swamped and their bar is just as well-stocked. An above-par pub menu features Cuban-spiced wraps and tacos. Hours: Mon-Sat 8pm-3am

This is a great venue for concerts. It has such a feeling of being up close and personal with the musicians on stage.

There's live music almost every night and the room usually fills up to hear the amazing Wooten Brothers (jazz and blues, and sometimes a Flecktone), or the Players (the A-list of studio session musicians). If you arrive late for a crowded show, head for the balcony and pass on the typically obstructed views on the main floor. WRLT Sunday Night simulcast cover charges can be steep. But admission gets you in for both bands, including the pre-broadcast set from the openers. Arrive as early as 7pm. The food is good and the venue isn't too smokey. Hours: Mon-Fri 11am-2am, Sat-Sun 5pm-2am
