The Brewhouse is located just off of the "famed" Broadway in downtown Nashville. It offers two bars, one in the front with open air seating and then a long bar nearly the length of the bar boasting over 72 beers on tap. The Cajun style menu offers some of the best Chicken Gumbo in town and will more than satisfy any appetite. Open Hours: 11am-3am Monday-Saturday, 12-3am Sunday

For decades now Tootsie’s has served as the unofficial after-party for virtually every performer who has ever graced the stage of the nearby Ryman Auditorium. Legendary country artists like Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson were once regulars, but nowadays you’re just as likely to rub elbows with celebrities from Cher to Kid Rock as they pass through town. While the front room has become downright dingy over the years, the combination of sporadic star power and historic cache keeps the music playing. Hours Daily 10am-2am

The biggest of the famous lower Broad honky-tonks, the Stage is both a tourist haven and go-to spot for locals who want to get out on the town. The dance floor is normally packed, the music is mainly country, and the upstairs balcony makes for some of the best people watching in town. The line at the main entrance can intimidate on weekends, but regulars can usually sneak in the back alley entrance in half the time. Hours Mon-Thu 2pm-3am Fri-Sat 11am-3am

Seafood dishes on the menu are flown in fresh daily and home-grown herbs from the restaurant are an added bonus. The dining room boasts great views of downtown, making the space well-suited for business dining or romantic evenings. Executive Chef Joe Shaw's American cuisine menu features fresh, local ingredients and changes slightly each day. Hours: Monday-Thursday 5:30pm-9:30pm, Friday-Saturday 5:30pm-10pm

Tin Roof hosts live bands six nights a week--everything from classic to contemporary rock to country. The bar's casual, carefree attitude is captured on the brightly colored plastic beer glasses with the slogan, "Stolen from the Tin Roof." Happy hour runs 2pm-7pm weeknights, and includes $1 Miller Lite drafts, $3 well drinks, margaritas and domestic bottled beers. The signature drink, the Bloody George, is a lethal concoction--Captain Morgan, Malibu, pineapple juice and a dash of grenadine. Bands start around 9pm. Weekend cover is $3 after the music starts. Hours Mon-Sat 11am-3am

With a full-service bar with premium liquors, wines and a large selection of draft and bottled beers, TVs throughout, and daily specials on the chalkboard this is a great bar for watching sports. When you walk into Sportsman's, you feel like you're walking into a northern hunting lodge atmosphere with fresh, hand-packed burgers, chili, catfish, and cold beer. Hours Daily 11am-close

Sam's is the true Sports Bar hot spot in Nashville. This Hillsboro Village gathering place has made it's mark on Nashville and local students. The food is outstanding for a sports bar with a wide variety of Pizzas, oven-baked subs, fantastic wings and awesome ribs. There is one large TV and several other smaller ones around the establishment. Hours: Daily 11am-3am.

On Jimmy Buffett's list for Top 10 Burgers in the U.S.A. But aside from that, Rotier's serves up a mean-ass burger (actually a grilled cheese with a patty shoved in there). The diner atmosphere is pretty unchanged since it first opened fifty some-odd years ago. Sneaky call would go to the fried pickles. Think Sling Blade. Hours: Open Mon-Thu 10:30am-9:30pm; Fri 10:30am-10:30pm; Sat 9am-10:30pm

If you want a sneaky picnic with delicious BBQ, head over to Hog Heaven. It's served out of a sneaky shack that's in walkable distance from the Parthenon. The White Sauce is the specialty...be careful because you won't want to go anywhere else after you try it. So throw a party, grab some pork, and head over to Centennial Park. Hours: Mon-Sat 10am-7pm

A Nashville staple. You haven't ever really BEEN to Nashville until you've rocked the Country Ham Breakfast Platter. All breakfasts are served with award winning biscuits and homemade preserves. Also, Loveless is the only place where you can get away with eating b.b.q. for breakfast. Beware the longer hike. Hours: Open Mon-Thu 8am-8pm; Fri-Sun 8am-9pm

A Vanderbilt/Nashville tradition, Pancake Pantry is a no frills stop for the pancake pusher. Usually a line, but goes extremely fast. Try to avoid on big Vandy weekends (i.e. football games, parents' weekend, graduation, etc.). Hours: Open Weekdays 6am-3pm; Weekends 6am-4pm
