Once a legendary dive bar, the Goldrush underwent a much needed face lift several years ago and has returned to its former glory. With a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere, this is type of place that Homer and Barney would throw back a few Duffs. The wings are some of the best in town, along with excellent burgers, but the house specialty has to be their seven different types of beans rolls. Hmmmm, bean rolls. Hours: 11am - 2am Daily

Firmly established as the de facto 19th hole for golfers from nearby McCabe Park, this friendly neighborhood ale house is has been a consistent performer since 1982. From the smiling servers, the complimentary cornbread, and the daily homemade desserts the family owned atmosphere is noticeable. While the interior is a bit drab, the popular outdoor patio is a grab place to grab a beer and catch up on the local gossip around town. Hours: Mon thru Sat 11am-10pm

Located in the Five Points crossroads of East Nashville, 3 Crow Bar personifies the independent free-spirited vibe of East Nasty. The patrons at 3 Crow bar are fiercely loyal to their neighborhood watering hole but don’t appear to take much else very seriously. The food is average so stick with the microwave popcorn that sells for about $2 a bag. The beer selection is strong and the outdoor beer garden even has free wi-fi for reps that like to drink beer and write bar reviews on a Sneaky Sunday evening. Hours: 11am to 3am Daily

A middle-aged after-work crowd comes in for weekday happy hours before heading to the suburbs. By 8pm, a younger, more collegiate demographic presses against every open area of the bar. If Vanderbilt has a road game, it's a great place to grab a beer and cheer for the 'Dores. Hours: Mon-Fri 3pm-2am; Sat-Sun 12pm-2am

Anchoring the 12 South corridor, this laid back neighborhood bar sports one of the best beer selections in town. The crowd is an eclectic mix of slackers and stoners with the occasional beer snob mixed in. If you find yourself a little woozy after your first couple of pints, the Taproom burger is highly recommended. If you can put up with the indifferent service, the outdoor patio is perfect place for a Sneaky Monday happy hour when they run all drink specials from 4pm to close.

Solid happy hours specials - Check. Perky hostesses & plenty of hi-def TVs – Done. Seven different varieties of tasty wings – Got’em. With two locations on the outskirts of town, Jonathan’s can be a bit of a hike but it nails all the key ingredients that a traditional sports bar needs. The perfect place for Monday night football or better yet, try their famous two-for-Tuesdays. Locally owned and operated for 20 years Jonathan’s has that comfortable feel and quality service that keeps a steady stream of regulars coming back. Hours: 11am to 2am Daily
