Jose Naranjo is the chef and has been in the restaurant business for 23 years. To wash down the homemade tamales, the specialty of the house, grab a margarita! The fried tortillas and tacos are a great twist to a traditional Mexican dish. On a nice day, there is a nice outside patio to enjoy the Nashville scene. Hours: Mon-Fri 11am-2pm, Sat 11am-10pm, Sun 11am-9:30pm

Everyone's favorite happy hour margarita joint. Located not far from downtown and not far from Vandy and surrounding areas. Great outdoor patio and ample menu for the hungry. Hours: Sun-Thu 11am-10pm, Fri-Sat 11am-11pm

Don’t know your reposados from your Añejos? Agave Tequila lounge specializes in providing eager Nash-villians an education on America’s favorite south of the border firewater. A relaxed southwestern vibe permeates the layout mixing in a quirky fascination with Nacho-Libre style wrestling masks. Whether you decide to go big with a Presidente pitcher (over $100 apiece), or just stick with the house margarita, the large outdoor seating area and above average Mexican food hits the spot. Hours: 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday

The atmosphere is amazing, and the design is unique with the bar in the middle and the booths right by the windows when you walk in. This is a Nashville bar where women feel comfortable sitting up at the bar and are able to enjoy their friends and and the essence/ vibe without being tackled from all sides. The cuisine represents so many countries from Latin America and is authentic but with a contemporary twist. Be warned, Lime uses only fresh juices, NOT mixers--so the drinks are pretty much pure alcohol and look like shots rather than full drinks.

The menu features contemporary cuisine with mesquite grilling and lime veggies. The burritos are thick, huge and smothered in a salsa verde or a spicier chili and served with ample sides of cool, garlicky guacamole and sour cream. Dining is available on an expansive outside deck with a sheeted-glass mosaic water cascade. The only drawback is that it's so popular and hard to get in on a weekend night. And to top it all off, they urge patrons to refrain from cell phone using in the dining area, making for a much more pleasurable dining experience. Hours: Mon-Thu 11am-2pm, 4pm-10pm, Fri 11am-2pm, 4pm-11pm, Sat 11am-11pm, Sun 4pm-9:30pm
