A Vegas-style night club in staid old Opryland Hotel? Believe it. Fuse is the new big sexy in town with a 1,000 square ft dance floor and over $10 million spent to bring the Vegas experience to Nash Vegas. From the well-stocked vodka lockers to the elaborate VIP enclaves, Fuse offers the type of posh club atmosphere sought after by celebrities. The upscale dress code is described as “stylishly elegant” and the $20 cover is not too bad considering it includes complimentary valet parking from the Magnolia entrance. Be sure to visit the unisex bathrooms with frosted panels separating the male and female vanity so that you can glimpse silhouettes on the glass. 8pm to 2am Monday and Tuesday, Thursday thru Saturday. Closed Sunday and Wednesday

Bar Twenty 3 has a fairly mixed crowd of local hipsters and young urban professionals looking for a fun no fuss night out. Weekday nights also get a really good crowd but have a more neighborhood feel. DJs are there all week and the music is typically good. They have done a good job to have it loud enough to enjoy it but not so high that you can carry on a descent conversation.

"Hip" is a relatively new concept in Nashville, but Lot 7 reminds us of ultra-lounges like the Foreign Cinema or the Redwood Room in San Francisco (cult-classics are projected onto the sleek white walls). The cowboy crew need not apply, these hipsters like to dress up and shmooze with Vince Young and the like. Great upstairs patio with it's own bar. Friday nights are the bumpin' night, Saturdays a little lackluster. A Sneaky professional, however, would ditch the crowds and hit Lot 7 on a Wednesday night, when the bottles of vino are half priced, and the killer live jazz compliments the Mongolian beef with grits.
