With its magnificent granite dome, equally striking interior gilded with colorful murals, marble from around the world, and exquisite glass mosaics, it’s definitely a “must see” while you’re in Madison. During the summer months, you can visit the observation deck and absorb a 360 degree view of the isthmus, or take in the museum on the sixth floor. Free tours depart from the lower-level information desk every day at the top of the hour.
