Chef Edward Lee serves an exquisite six-course menu, prixe fixe, which rotates weekly. The meal is heavily influenced by the "farm to table agricultural movement. Comparable with the finest restaurants world wide, this is one for a very special occasion. Dinner available Thu-Sat opening at 6pm, reservations required. Available any day of the week for private events.

Not since the switch from neighborhood pub to upscale restaurant has something done so much for this restaurant as the smoking ban has. After closing for a month in 2004, Jack Fry's smoke odor was completely eliminated and the fine dining was well, refined. This loud and crowded restaurant is a hot spot for a date, or just a dinner with friends. Food isn't an after thought to atmosphere, as the American Bistro style menu caters to all types of foodies. A jazz trio starts at 7 nightly, and the service is laid back but top notch. Stop in Mon-Thu 11am-2:30pm, 5:30pm-11pm Fri 11am-2:30pm, 5:30pm-12am Sat 5:30pm-12am Sun 5:30pm-10pm

Porcini is an ever trendy italian restaurant on Frankfort Avenue's restaurant row. A local favorite, the social scene is always strong and the service is friendly at Porcini's. The patio is great for people watching and the dining room is beautifully decorated, but the real gem is the menu. No one in Louisville does northern Italian cuisine quite like Porcini, and the two wine lists represent some of the best selections in the city. Reservations recommended, Porcini will not disappoint. Open: Mon-Thu 5:30pm-10:30pm Fri-Sat 5:30pm-11:00pm

NOTE: Our local Sneaky Sunday representative is working on developing original commentary to support this recommendation. It should be live very soon. Thank you for your patience and please enjoy this recommendation all the same.

If you're a Louisville native, you may have passed Equus multiple times and never realized what is inside. The very understated and unassuming facade gives no inkling to the fine dining that Equus offers. Only the high-end cars that fill the parking lot nightly would even hint at it. The seasonal menu is always on point and the highly refined american style food is a delight. Reservations are recommended, but you can stop in anytime to its accompanying lounge, Jack's, which is equally as impressive. Mon-Sat 6-10 PM

Rivue is the newest member of Louisville's fine dining scene, and it has made a splash. Many Louisvillian's look with disdain on the tacky Galt House, but Rivue is as much a part of the Galt House as the Yankees are cheap. This twenty-fifth floor oasis is a fine dining dream with a top shelf bar and stellar food. Maybe this is the beginning of a new era for the Galt House, thanks to Rivue.
