Owned and directed by Bill Lowe, The Lowe Gallery represents artists who share powerful and eloquent visions supported by a highly advanced mastery of their media. Highly theatrical and emotionally visceral works of art are what you will find here. The Lowe Gallery maintains an accelerated exhibition schedule, which features three one-person shows per month. Typically, the gallery will juxtapose an internationally renowned artist in its grand salon with a mid-career and emerging artist in adjoining galleries. Paul Getty’s impressive collection of European paintings, drawings, sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, decorative arts, and European and American photographs. Gallery and garden tours are offered daily. After your grand art tour, soak up the sun on a bench or enjoy a glass of wine and gourmet treats form the Getty Cafe with all of Los Angeles as the backdrop.. Admission to the Getty Center is FREE—no tickets or reservations required for general admission. Parking is $8. Part of the Culver City Arts District, d.e.n. contemporary was opened to the public in 2005 when owner Donna Enah Napper sought to create a space where emerging artists could display their work. And her vision has become reality as scores of new artists continue to showcase their work. Each show intends to celebrate the individuality of the artist with special attention to detail. Swing by the UCLA campus to visit the famous Hammer Museum. You’ll see Armand Hammer’s personal art collection, consisting mostly of traditional western European and Anglo-American art, and contains noteworthy paintings by Toulouse-Lautrec, Rembrandt, Degas, and Van Gogh. Known for its daring and provocative exhibits, the Hammer frequently presents contemporary political and experimental art. Be sure you call ahead to find out what will be there during your visit. Admission is $5 for adults; $3 for seniors (65+) and UCLA Alumni Association Members with ID card; free for museum members, students with ID cards, UCLA faculty and staff and visitors 17 and under accompanied by an adult.
