Vinum Populi, Roman for “wine of the people”, takes wine tasting to another level with a pay by the ounce wine playground. Here’s the process: you purchase a wine card and you are free to choose your wines from all over the world ounce by ounce by delicious ounce. Always wanted to try a $500 bottle of wine but didn’t want to spend the cash? Problem solved at Vinum Populi. This is a great way to educate yourself about wine. The staff here is helpful and makes wine tasting completely accessible (there are no dumb questions). Located in the middle of downtown Culver City, you can make an evening of it by tasting some wines pre or post movie. They also have a full menu and authentic Italian gelato to refresh your palette after all those ounces.
