Thsi is actually a one day event or a weekend event. For those that want to camp out there for an all out party, all weekend. Or you can just come join us for the day. I will be showing up on that friday to set up camp so if you RSVP, then please let me know if you are coming for the day or for the weekend so I know how much of an area to reserve. We will be staying in the quiet area because if not, you will never get to sleep. The theme for this weekend is Roman Baccanal. It is a toga weekend, come as you are or dress up and join the rest and really get into the fun. At night we will gather around the bonfire and watch all the other crazy people out there. Again, please let me know if you are going to be camping or just going for the day.

The Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts (MECA) presents their annual Día de los Muertos Altar Exhibit. Application Deadline: October 28, 2009. On view October 31 – November 28, 2009.

The community is invited to participate and create an altar in honor of a past relative or loved one. Family members honor their deceased loved ones with ofrendas or offerings such as photographs, bread, foods, flowers, toys, and other symbolic offerings. Personalize the altar with images of saints; favorite objects, or whatever you think would honor your loved one. Altar exhibit competition contestants could win 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.
