Pub Fiction
2303 Smith Street Houston, TX 77006

This is the one bar in Houston that seems to be versatile enough to be all things to all people. The midtown neighborhood bar, a sports bar, a place to dance, live music, happy hour, themed parties, it even has an outside patio with acoustic entertainment. The most important aspect however, is it is a great place to drink and meet people any day of the week. The only downfall may be it gets too crowded, but the attentive owners Blini and Mike are always there on the busy nights maintaining the flow of traffic.

The best bar in Houston

9/17/2009 Posted by Staple

Just as the description says above, Pub Fiction can be all things to all people. I have been there on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and even one Sunday. There will always be several people having drinks even on a quiet night - it is never empty. The nights usually vary greatly - which is great. Some nights, it's old school 80's music; some nights it's a live band; some nights it's just pop. There are multiple TV screens and every game possible is showing. Multiple bar tenders and waitresses. Outside patio with a large screen TV. Its kind of your "in-between" place: Not too trendy and expensive, yet not shabby or run-down. Bar food is acceptable. They actually have some variety. The crowd varies from younger early 20's people to older 30's/40's. I have met several people there. Definitely go if you're single. In summary, Pub Fiction is the one place I can count on when I'm not sure if the other bars will be empty or not.
