Create creatures from Florida's ecosystems, swim through the shallows of a coral reef and puzzle together a prairie in this hands-on exhibit.

'Inside Africa' takes museum goers of all cultural backgrounds and ages into the African experience, allowing them to discover firsthand the vitality, richness and significance of African peoples and communities in the context of a journey to selected sites on the African continent.

This is a retrospective of seven study paintings by Charles R. Knight, one of the first and the most renowned "paleo-artist" of all time. Knight visited the state many times throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s and these paintings include many animals that once lived in Florida.

This exhibit highlights the role of butterflies in the belief system and art of contemporary Zuni people, Native Americans who live in the high desert of the American Southwest. Zuni traditional arts feature butterflies and moths and this tradition continues today in their fine arts, crafts and tourist art forms.

This exhibit features the work of local artist Jim Harrison. Through his series of 13 themed prints and other drawings, Harrison uses the power of graphic design to promote North Central Florida's natural beauty.

‘Cross-Currents’ presents recent video installations by four international artists with ties to Africa: Zwelethu Mthethwa, IngridMwangiRobertHutter, Moataz Nasr and Berni Searle. In each work, the amorphous quality of water is explored as a metaphor for shifting notions of identity, migration and memory of fluidity and instability, of spiritual rebirth, of violence and of traumatic loss of life.

This exhibit of approximately 35 digital pigment inkjet prints by Maggie Taylor showcase her innovative mastery of digital image.

‘Ocean of Devotion: South Asian Regional Worship Traditions’ features 32 objects on view that displays, organization and groupings of the works center on specific deities and narratives significant in the Hindu traditions. Each grouping juxtaposes works of various media and time periods to illustrate the continuity and change each figure undergoes due to regional and historical circumstances.

This exhibit focuses on the ritual display of yams in Middle Sepik River societies occurring around the times of planting and harvesting. It includes 14 works of art from the Harn collection and 11 on loan from the C. Frederick and Aase B. Thompson Foundation.

‘Momentum’ highlights the notion of time, building on the ideas first introduced by the French Annales School in the mid and late 20th century. It explores these notions of time as they are expressed in contemporary art, focusing on enduring traditions, changing cultures and radical breaks. Works highlighted in the exhibition include paintings by Kehinde Wiley, sculpture by Chul-Hyun Ahn and video by Yael Bartana.
