Image of Basic Digital Storytelling Workshop (Basic Digital Storytelling)
Denver Open Media is proud to announce that they will be partnering with the Center for Digital Storytelling (CDS) to present a Basic Digital Storytelling Workshop. This workshop will be led by the experienced staff of the Center for Digital Storytelling and will provide a more personal and conceptual approach to creating video. Over the last 14 years, the CDS basic workshop has been honed and tested in a wide variety of contexts, with a diverse number of people, from the techno-savvy to the techno-phobic. The sense of connection, of discovery or risk, and of reward, is profound. (Please view sample stories here.) The goal of the basic workshop is to design and produce a 3-5 minute digital story. Students craft and record first-person narratives, collect still images and music with which to illustrate their pieces, and are guided through computer tutorials which enable them, with teacher support, to edit their own stories (students will learn the basics of Final Cut Pro.) This is a very special opportunity for individuals to learn how to compose their own personal story and make it rewarding to both themselves and their audience. The next workshop will be held on November 19-21, 2009 at Denver Open Media. Workshops run from 9am-5pm and include 8-12 participants. Cost is $495 and includes a free Programming Membership with Denver Open Media. All interested individuals should register at the Center for Digital Storytelling site, www.storycenter.org. For more information, please contact daniel@storycenter.org.
