Back Country Bar-B-Q serves 8 different meats, and a variety of fresh, Momma-style cooked vegetables. The place is your typical dive BBQ restaurant, but the food will keep you returning again and again.

Sammy's Bar-B-Q

Mon-Sat 11am-3pm

Hugely popular with the Uptown business crowd during lunch. The food is spectacular, and the old building gives a country feel to the typically glitzy Uptown surroundings.

Red Hot & Blue

Open Mon-Thu,Sun 11am-9pm; Fri-Sat 11am-10pm

Tennessee-based chain with rock themed memorabilia adorning the walls. Don't let the fact that this is a chain scare you off, though...the food is great, and has more of the southeast BBQ focus on pork versus the Texas BBQ focus on beef. Try the All-In burger if you want a bit of both worlds. Also, they have six DFW locations, so pick the one closest to you.

Bone Daddy's

Open Mon-Thu,Sun 11am-11pm; Fri-Sat 11am-12am

This place is Hooter's meets BBQ. The waitresses are scantily clad and super hot, so it might not be a place for the ladies, but the guys come just for the eye candy...and oh yeah, the BBQ is great, too.

Rudy's Country Store & BBQ

Rudy's is basically a meat market (in the cuisine sense only, unfortunately) that sells cooked meats. Basically, tell them how many pounds you want & they serve it up. The pits are 100% wood fired with oak, a slower burning wood as opposed to mesquite, and the meats are cooked in a dry spice that is fantastic. Also, the "Sauce" is probably the best around...take a bottle home with you & you won't regret it. Denton is a bit of a hike, but it's worth it, and a location in Frisco is coming soon.

Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse

Open Weekdays 10am-4pm; Sat 10am-3pm

Probably the best of the Dallas-based chains, with 10 restaurants in the DFW area. Great food, but not quite up to par with some of the others ranked higher above.
