Spagio Cellars caters to people who know wine, but they're certainly not uppity about it. On Thursday nights, they host wine tasting events, so they are very aware that nobody listens to a thing any "expert" has to say after about four glasses of vino. On non-tasting days, you can still drink anything you buy in the store for a small corking fee. You can also order from Spagio's excellent menu since the restaurant is right next door. A Thursday wine tasting at Spagio Cellars makes for a great date night...but beware of the wine hangover on Friday morning. Sulfites, people! T,W 11:30-11 / Th 11:30-midnight F,S 11:30-1 / Sun 1-10

Are you annoyed that all the wines at the store are, well, old? Then why don't you make your own fresh wine? Camelot Cellars gives you all of the tools you need to produce, bottle, label, and cork your own vintage. No, it probably won't taste like Cheateau Lafite-Rothschild, but after 6-8 weeks you'll get a whole vat for less than the price of a single bottle of the French stuff. Plus it's a great conversation starter at parties. If you appreciate this advice, nothing says "thank you" like sending us a bottle of Sneaky Sunday Cabernet. Open T-Th 1-9 / F,S 12-10

The Burgundy Room is the city's finest wine and tapas bar, but it is far from stuffy. There are dozens of affordable options to tipple, and the staff are knowledgable and helpful with your selections. It gets a little packed, especially on weekends (and insanely so during Gallery Hop - the first Saturday of every month), but if you're patient, your reward is a round, high-backed leather booth that makes it impossible to avoid lively conversation. Because you're ordering small, inexpensive plates of food, you're almost always pleasantly surprised when the bill comes.
