Unless you have dined at Sneaky's grandmother's house, you have not had Italian food better than what Trattoria Roma offers. The beef brasciole (meat-covered meat!) and osso bucco are to die for. There isn't much to the Roma's decor, but the service is top-notch. After devouring a hearty meal and slugging down a bottle of chianti, you'll want to break into a rousing chorus of "Funiculi, Funicula." We only ask that you save room for the city's finest tiramisu. Martini is a great place to go for a plate of pasta, but keep 'em in mind for happy hour, too. Situated at the corner of High and Vine, Martini's bar area has lots of windows well-suited for people watching. A recent facelift (to both the restaurant and the menu) has served Martini well. Re-inventing itself as "Modern Italian" (it used to be an "Italian Bistro") means Martini is a bit more upscale than it used to be. At first blush, that translates to better furniture and a few more foo-foo drinks on the menu, but the menu has been upgraded as well. Overall, we like the changes, and think you will, too.
