This is a diamond in the rough, my friends. Don't be sketched out by the blacked-out windows because upon entering, you will be greeted by an inviting bar full of like-minded (i.e. thirsty) patrons. So far so good, right? It gets better! Just on the other side of a curved wall is additional seating and four jumbo projection screens. Not only does "The Kinger" host all of the big sporting events, but they throw a pretty good party for hockey, soccer, and auto racing events (easy there, Dick Trickle; we're referring to the open-wheel circuit). The food is fantastic, and you haven't lived unless you've tried their "Irish Joe." Trust us. Sneaky wouldn't lie to you. Sun-Wed 11-midnight / Th-Sat 11-2:30

If you are coming into town for an Ohio State football game, THIS IS WHERE YOU GO. Kirk Herbstreit was practically raised here! Now entering its 50th year, "The VC" has long been ground zero for Ohio State's nationally renowned tailgating scene. One of your friends will almost certainly suggest going to "the Hineygate" to tailgate. That's fine, but their beers are 50 cents more and their patrons are 5-10 years older, so listen to Sneaky and stick to the VC. If the place gets too crowded, sneak downstairs, where there is usually a little room to move. Beware that there are invisible boundaries you can't cross while carrying a beer, even though everything looks like one big party. Port o' John lines can be a bit long, too, but unless you know someone with a $400K RV, there is no better venue to do shots of Jaeger at 9 AM on gameday.

Brace yourself, because this is no cafe'. The Buckeye HOF Cafe' is more of a sports museum dedicated to all that is Ohio State, particularly the football and men's basketball teams. While college football gamedays are insane. Most other days you can get a good bite to eat, shoot a game of pool on the scarlet-felted tables, watch any of a zillion TVs, and maybe buy yourself a souvenir football jersey. And how many sports bars do you know with valet parking and a shuttle service? You'll have so much fun, you may want to punch a Clemson defensive back in the mouth! Open Sunday 10-10, M-Th 11-11, and Fri/Sat 11-1.

You deserve a local alternative to the Buffalo Wild Wings empire, and Roosters is that option. According to the results of a completely non-scientific survey conducted of the four dudes hanging out at Sneaky HQ, Roosters actually has better wings than B-Dubs. The restaurants are a bit more austere with their picnic tables and, well, just a lot of wood, but they are more than adequate for watching football, baseball, jai lai, or the euthanizing of yet another Kentucky Derby thoroughbred.

Buffalo Wild Wings got its start in Ohio where the original restaurant was called Buffalo Wild Wings and Weck, or BW-3. Despite dropping any reference to weck (some sort of bread or starchy byproduct), locals still refer to this sports 'n' wings chain as B-Dubs. Old habits die hard. There are at least 10 locations in Columbus, and we really have no quarrel with any of them. In fact, Sneaky recommends the spicy garlic sauce...assuming you're not bringing a date to watch the game. Dude, you are NOT bringing a date to watch the game...right?! Most are open Mon-Sat 11-1; Sun 11-midnight

Yes, it's a chain, and yes, your waitress might be sporting a couple pieces of "flair," but Champp's does have an ungodly number of television screens and a menu the size of Webster's Unabridged. It's hard to get excited about going to a bar where someone hands you a light-up pager and says "we'll call you when your table is ready," but after you're four beers deep...who cares, right? Chammp's has been the sportsman's Applebee's for years and shows no signts of letting up. M-F 11-2 / Sat 10-2 / Sun 10-11
