The Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup is steeplechase horse racings premier event. Known as Where Winners Become Champions, the Colonial Cup draws over 15,000 fans and horsemen from up and down the eastern seaboard. Coming up on Saturday November 21, 2009, the Colonial Cup provides the seasons grand finale - often deciding all the national titles including Jockey of the Year, Trainer of the Year, and Horse of the Year. Established in 1970 as part of the state's Tricentennial Celebration, The Colonial Cup is a memorial to the founder of the eminent race meet and benefactress of the course, Marion duPont Scott. It is a family day in the country enjoying a host of activities to enchant children and adults alike.
