Image of Free Skating on Square New Years Eve

Rekindle old memories or start some new traditions with free ice skating on Fountain Square New Year’s Eve, sponsored by the law firm Strauss & Troy.  Starting at 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, admission and skate rental is free.

The law firm Strauss & Troy sponsored last year’s skating on New Year’s Eve as well as the Market on the Square this summer. President Bill Strauss said, “Ice skating on Fountain Square is a festive tradition in Cincinnati, and sponsoring free skating on New Year’s Eve is our way of extending an open invention to the community to come downtown and join the sparkle and festivities.”

The Fountain Square ice rink is located in the center of the redesigned Square, with a great view of the fountain. For your convenience, there are also lockers, benches and a heated tent. As always, parking in the Fountain Square Garage makes the trip easy and affordable for the family.

This year the New Year’s celebration includes the cool tunes of a DJ and the cold beverages at Christian Moerlein’s Ice Bar. You can also warm up in the heated tent on the square, with holiday offerings from food and beverage vendors on the square or in any of the nearby restaurants.  Then at midnight, Fountain Square is the hot spot in town to snuggle with your loved ones to watch the fireworks.
