Most anyone who has dined at Zed451 is likely to describe this upscale steakhouse in one word: sexy. If you can evade the lure of their seductive lounge, decked with a double-sided fireplace, leather seating and a custom-made chandelier of 140 wine glasses, then ascend up a staircase to a rooftop where you will bathe in summery cocktails and unparalleled views of the Chicago cityscape. Gingered bourbon lemonade made with citrus-infused small-batch bourbon, and kiwi strawberry martinis with house made sour mix, will make for a rare dining experience. Hours: Open Mon-Thurs 4:30pm-11pm; Fri 4:30pm-12am; Sat 4:30pm-10pm; Sun 12pm-8pm

Alfresco dining at its finest, Flatwater is one of the few moderately priced restaurants on the Chicago River. Situated below the Clark Street Bridge, this urban setting is the ideal place for a quick lunch break in the sun or after-work drinks beneath the dazzling Chicago skyline. We highly recommend the Aloha Avocado Egg Rolls a flash-fried appetizer prepared with fresh avocado, mango pico de gallo and cilantro-cashew pesto dipping sauce – this favorite brings the crowds. Hours: Mon-Sun 7am-2am

We won’t promise you a view of the Chicago skyline but at the Blue Line Lounge and Grill, you’re guaranteed a unique outdoor dining experience. Located beneath the Damen stop on the Blue Line in Bucktown/Wicker Park, the gentle pulsation of the upstairs subway train lends to a sexy ambience in a 1950s railroad dining car setting. We highly recommend the seasoned sweet potato fries and any of the exotically twisted mojitos, including fan favorites Raspberry and The Social. Oh, and did we mention that Wednesday is Martini Night? Hours: Open Mon and Tues 5pm-12am; Wed and Thu 5pm-2am; Fri and Sat 9am-3am; Sun 9am-4pm

When Park Grill first opened in 2003, reservations were hard to come by – and it’s no secret why! Call it a bit of tourist fever but this contemporary American restaurant, located in the midst of Millennium Park, is Chicago’s quintessential dining experience. Only six months after its debut, the 2004 Zagat Chicago Restaurant Guide ranked Park Grill fifth in the Best New Restaurant category. We recommend the signature Park Grill Burger with toppings like Herkimer cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, grilled onions… and of course, the Bean. Hours: Mon-Sun 11am-11pm

Summer is unarguably the premier season for a fresh blend of seafood and al fresco dining. Opening July 1, C-View stages the city’s newest rooftop lounge with breathtaking views of the nearby Hancock Building as well as the Sears Tower and Michigan Avenue. Your senses will be stimulated by an assortment of popular menu items from celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson's seafood restaurant, C-House. Located on the 29th floor of the Affinia Chicago hotel, this pristine outdoor terrace is a sure-fire way to impress even the savviest palate. Hours: Sun-Wed 4pm-12am; Thu-Sat 4pm-2am
