Your quest for the ultimate burger has finally ended. Epic Burger, launched in May of 2008 in Chicago’s burgeoning South Loop, is the city’s first chef-driven burger joint. Known for its sassy eco-tude, Epic has introduced Chicagoans to a “more mindful burger.” We highly recommend the Original Epic Burger ($5.99) equipped with locally produced ingredients, a fresh baked bun and a 100% all natural, hand-packed hunk o’ beef. Warning: once you take a bite out of your socially conscious slab of hormone free, grass fed cow, a group hug will likely ensue. This delicious burger definitely gives you more bang for your bun!

When you step foot in here you're gonna think we lost our mind. "This ain't a burger joint" you'll say as you knock over some tables and make a huge scene. But hear us out! Despite its fine-dining persona this place actually makes one outstanding burger. They're only available for lunch, which is a bit tragic and the reason we're not making it numero uno. Perhaps they don't want legions of unwashed burger-eaters disturbing their classy dinner patrons. Who needs 'em! The caramelized onions bring it all together and go ahead and get it with the applewood-smoked bacon. If you're gonna have a heart attack, do it with a smile on your face. We shouldn't have to tell you but we will anyway, get the hand cut fries to go along with your burger. What really tipped the scales were the cheese options to top off your burger that you won't find anywhere else. Hours of Operation: Mon-Thu 11:30am-2pm, 5:30pm-9:30pm Fri 11:30am-2pm, 5:30pm-10pm Sat 5:30pm-10pm

Author Jack Boyle’s character Boston Blackie was "an enemy to those who make him an enemy, friend to those who have no friend." Rest assured, The Boston Blackie burger is a friend to all! Sneaky recommends the half-pound burger, topped only with basics like onions, cheese and bacon. The burger's half-pound patties come hot off the grill quicker than you can say, “Where’s the beef?” In addition to the delish burgers and prompt meat delivery, the service is done with a smile. In fact, the menu says, "The main ingredient in cooking is love." Awe, that’s even better than dessert! Hours of Operation: Mon-Sun 7am-10pm

We’re happy to report that Americana does exist in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. All that’s missing is a drive-in theatre and a malt shop. The clown, the king and the redhead serve mediocre burgers in the same price range as a basic char burger ($3.30) loaded with lettuce, tomato and onions at Muskie’s. And if customers are feeling generous, for a mere 34-cent fee, they’ll slap some cheese on there so you can gas up before heading to the sock hop. Hours of Operation: Mon-Thu 11am-10pm; Fri-Sat 11am-12am; Sun 12pm-7pm

Okay, so Phil Vettel from the Tribune outed Rosebud’s burger as “Chicago’s Best Burger” in 2005 and ever since, the fancy schmancy steakhouse’s profits now cater to” guests clamoring for the giant 12 ounces of succulent beef served on a delicious pretzel-dough bun. Goodbye $30 steaks and hello made to order burger at a mere $9! Hours of Operation: Mon-Thurs 11:30am-11pm; Fri 11:30am-12am; Sat 3pm-12am; Sun 3pm-10pm
