Built in 1904, this former amusement park is now the hottest summer spot in Chicago. The live stage features some of the country’s hottest performers from a range of music genres, and the 3,200-seat open air Pavillion is home to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, jazz legends, and some of the greatest pop, folk, blues and country musicians of today. You’ll pay the price for the prime seats – they cost about $20-$100 a pop; but if it’s a more relaxed evening you’re looking for then grab your picnic basket, a bottle of Pinot and head to the lawn seats where you can score a spot for about $15. You can also enjoy the sights and sounds from the new Park View restaurant dining room terrace - $100.00 covers a chef-prepared quartet dinner and secures your seat on the terrace during the concert.

This 960,0000 square foot building that cost over $175 million to build is the largest stadium in the United States. Home to the Bulls and Blackhawks, it also showcases some of the biggest concerts and acts to visit Chicago, featuring over 200 events throughout the year. Seating capacity maxes out at about 22,000 and is usually full for Bulls games. If sports don’t fancy you, how about seeing one of the biggest rock bands in the world onstage, like the Rolling Stones, The Who, Eric Clapton, U2 or a lavish production like Cirque du Soliel. The massive stadium has hosted close to 20 million guests since 1994.

If you are looking for some real, gritty Chicago blues, head to this 20s style bar where every night features live performances from local and touring acts. The talent is impressive and the place gets crowded with the lively crowd intoxicated by the dancing and music. If you want to take some of Chicago home with you they house a store that features the work of John Carroll Doyle who has been capturing the sights of jazz and blues for decades (you’ll notice his work on the walls). Be prepared to pay a hefty cover on the weekends and make sure you honor the two drink minimum – not that we see that being a problem!
