For an instant immersion in Spain, and all of its honeymoon romance, Dali is the place. Despite the intimacy-inspiring atmosphere, it’s also fun and festive enough to bring your friends—how else are you going to try all 40 of the tapas frias and calientes? The sangria is delicious and the fried Spanish cheese with honey and sweet onion a must-order. Open Daily 5:30pm-11pm

The sister restaurant to Dali, Tapeo is a great stop on Newbury Street for its eclectic, Mediterranean décor, excellent outdoor tables, extensive tapas list and group-friendly atmosphere. Like Dali, it features a nice and strong sangria to go with scrumptious plates such as jamon Serrano, garlic shrimp and bacon-wrapped, goat-cheese stuffed prunes. Open Mon-Wed 5:30pm-10pm; Thu-Fri 5:30pm-11pm; Sat 12pm-11pm; Sun 12pm-10pm

Solea may be out in Waltham, but it’s still got the funky, urban, European vibe that makes its related restos, Dali and Tapeo, thrive. Think South America meets Spain, with a sunny atmosphere and great margaritas in addition to the sangria. You’ll find all the classic tapas dishes like little plates of olives and and fried potatoes, along with ceviche, empanadas and Argentine churrasco. Open Mon-Wed 5pm-12am; Thu-Sat 12pm-1am; Sun 12pm-12am

Another spin-off of Dali (thanks to co-owner Tamara Bourso), Cuchi Cuchi is as much fun as the name implies. The décor, the dishes and the people surrounding you are beautiful, and just about everyone seems to be having a fabulous time, no matter what they’re eating or drinking. They tell you not to call their little plates tapas, but they’re little, shareable plates nonetheless: try the French-Laundry inspired savory cornets. Open Mon-Sat 5:30pm-12:30am

Toro holds strong with its modern design and great atmosphere at the bar and the communal tables. You’ll wait to squeeze in for the sangria, the scene and the shareable little snacks like Marcona almonds, grilled corn and duck drumettes. There are also huge platters of paella and good cheese plates. Open Mon 12am-1am, 4:30pm-1am; Tue-Sat 4:30pm-1am; Sun 10:30am-1:30pm, 4:30pm-12am
