Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation is Boise's local mountain created by the community 65 years ago. Only 16.5 miles north of downtown, it has an international reputation for providing affordable recreational opportunities for skiers and riders of all ages, ability levels and interests. Here you will find opportunities for world-class alpine and nordic skiing, snowboarding, competition and recreation. With over 2,600 skiable acres, 35km of groomed nordic trails; a lift-served tubing hill; 3 day lodges with food service; lessons for ages 3+; childcare; equipment rental shops and more, Bogus Basin is a local hotspot providing a great after work, after school, after hours recreational opportunity. Stretching more than 20 miles from Eagle Island State Park eastward to Discovery State Park at the base of Lucky Peak Dam, this paved pathway offers inline skaters, joggers, walkers and cyclists a year-round paved pathway. The well marked trail winds through downtown Boise, Veterans Memorial Park, and Julia Davis Park following the Boise River. Trailside restaurants offer refreshments and ample people watching.
